Touted as the “future of French rock”, La Femme make their live debut in Singapore on March 7th 2017, following the release of their long-awaited second album "Mystère", available worlwide since September 2nd 2016.
Inspired by a love of retro sounds through Gene Vincent, The Velvet Underground and Kraftwerk, and using influences from Touareg Blues, Cumba or Ragga, La Femme has emerged with a grim-meets-glam genre of its own; like a new-wave rave filtered through The Ventures’ back catalogue.
No sooner had their debut album launch in 2013, did it hit No.1 in the French digital charts making La Femme the next best IT group overnight. Since then, the band won the Victoires de la Musique (French music awards) in 2014 for Best New Album with "Psycho Tropical Berlin" (and is nominated this year for Best Rock Album), and is regularly on the front page of French and European media.
They have been generously praised from the likes of Jacques Audiard and Romain Gavras, to legends Jean Michel Jarre and Hedi Slimane. The latter used La Femme’s version of Oh Baby Doll in a Saint Laurent campaign featuring Cara Delevingne.
On top of all, legendary rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers asked La Femme to support them during their 2016 European tour, making the band one of the biggest new sensation of the current French music scene.
